Veterinarians perform an ultrasound

ABDOMINAL ULTRASOUND SCREENINGS

As our pets age, there may be changes that occur internally that we cannot appreciate externally. The possibilities created by ultrasound imaging have become one of the most exciting modern trends in veterinary medicine. The enormous potential of this technology has opened the door to many new procedures and advanced applications. You now have an opportunity to have an abbreviated abdominal ultrasound performed on your Scottie and support the Door County Scottie Rally which provides funding for STCA affiliated Scottie Rescue and/or the STCA Health Trust Fund.

Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists

& Emergency Hospital

is dedicated to service and provides high quality veterinary care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their highly trained emergency doctors are equipped to handle all emergency and critical care needs and their specialists have the knowledge and expertise to handle the most complex cases and continue to work closely with your veterinarian to ensure continuity of care for your four footed family member.

In addition to advanced after hours emergency care, their board certified surgeons are on-call to assure your pet gets the care they need no matter what the hour.

This abbreviated ultrasound examination will include imaging of the kidneys, bladder, liver and spleen. Dr.Carre Stefaniak and colleagues, emergency and critical care clinicians from the Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Hospital in Port Washington, WI, will be donating their time and expertise to perform the exams. The procedure will require some shaving of the abdominal area. Nervous or anxious pets may be difficult to scan as movement can affect the images.

This will be a brief examination intended to provide information that should not be considered a substitute for the medical advice of your Veterinarian. Scotties with serious medical problems should be referred to a veterinary specialist for more thorough consultation and complete examination.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!

“ARE YOU TALKIN’ TO ME?”
Pet Psychic sessions by Gale Ritchey

Gale Ritchey
Gale Ritchey

Have you ever wondered what your dog would say to you if he/she had the chance? Wouldn't it be great if you could get some of those questions answered that would help you relate to your dog at a deeper more heartfelt and understanding level? Well, now here is your chance! We have the unique opportunity to have a woman that has the gift of communicating with animals coming to this year’s Door County Scottie Rally. Gale Ritchey, higher psychic healer and artist will be conducting pet psychic sessions by appointment.

What to expect from these sessions? Gale explains, “It all depends on what the animals have to tell me and what the issues are that they want to discuss.  The sessions are really animal driven but if the people have definite concerns about the animal’s health, past traumas, or just would like an overall check of what might be going on energetically which eventually can result in a physical or systemic concern that information might pop up. Sometimes past lives are shown and discussed but for these shorter sessions it will be animal directed so the animals will let me know what they want to talk about, but the owners can give me a question or two that they are seeking answers to and we can see what comes out of that communication."

“Each session is unique to the animal and the animal's life and past situations. There are no two sessions alike and there are times when just being in my energy field brings the opportunity to communicate and the animals sense this opening and begin to share what they feel they need to share."

About Gale Ritchey ~ higher psychic healer artist

Gale believes mankind is responsible for caring for all the animals on the planet. As a way to do her part, her goal is to initiate the telepathic line of communication that can only strengthen the relationship between animals and their people. Gale donates the fees charged to animal care causes of her choice.

In 2002 Gale created the Stray Animal Fund for the Northern Door Pet Clinic in Sister Bay, Wisconsin as a way to support the clinics efforts to help place stray animals in their care.  Gale has helped us raise funds for the Scottie Rescue since 2003.

Psychically working with the animals or people, sessions with Gale Ritchey are said to be insightful, clarifying, enlightening, mystical, in-depth, energizing, and healing experiences. Advising since age 16, Gale is a well-known, gifted higher psychic, healer and energy artist with more than 30 years experience in the field of higher psychism and natural healing.  Gale moved to Door County from Deerfield, Illinois in 1998, where she conducted private sessions, workshops, and transformational intensives that combine her healing work with network spinal analysis with Dr. Dave Buck in Wilmette, IL.

Gale networks with many alternative therapists and healthcare professionals to help individuals initiate innate healing abilities; gain greater personal empowerment, creative individuality and professional prosperity; and gain an evolutionary spiritual wholeness.

SOOTHING SCOTTIE MASSAGES
by Kathleen Folz

Kathleen Folz
Kathleen Folz

Talk about the opportunity to pamper your Scottie! Join Kathleen for a fifteen minute session of canine massage! Kathleen completed coursework in human massage through the Lakeside School of Massage Therapy and subsequently completed Canine Massage at the Integrated Touch Therapy School in Circleville, OH in 2002.

For the numerous years she has provided “pooch pampering” as a volunteer at the WI Humane Society in Milwaukee and for the Greyhound Pets of America. Additionally Kathleen maintains a private practice of canine massage and was recently featured in MILWAUKEE Magazine.

Although Kathleen has a wide variety of interests, doing canine massage ranks at the top of her list! She describes her contact with canine massage by saying: “It’s an eye-opening experience every day. Some animals want to be massaged; others are apprehensive at first but often if they’re quietly asked permission they melt and allow things to happen”.

Often the animal will present an area that needs work on, or repeatedly turn their body in a particular way so that an area gets the needed attention. Kathleen feels that every animal deserves to be pampered and she is more than willing to talk with owners and bring relief, comfort or relaxation to our Scotties for the day! She is donating 100% of the massage fees to the Door County Scottie Rally.
