And now some information about our winner!

Karen shares her home with 4 Scotties -- Campbell, Agnes, Lucille, Baby Ruth and O' Henry. Karen has "dabbled" in art expression for years using many media such as watercolor, oil, fabric, glass and clay, but always returned to using pencil and paper. She states; "I am happiest when I am drawing. My art and my dogs give joy and meaning to my life."

In 2002 after reading a story by Carol Johnson titled "Crisis on Woobidor" Karen drew her first Scottie cartoon because she was "so caught up in the descriptive words" she dashed off a simple sketch to the author (www.Bayouscotties.com). That's was the beginning of a new passion and the evolution of the art style that you now see. Karen admits; "I was hooked & obsessed. My own Scotties served as models and the inspiration that fed the obsession. I had found my voice!"

In 2004 Karen officially began Arooo Studios and feels "blessed to have a circle of friends that have always encouraged and challenged me."
